My name is Ben Schladenhauffen, I’m the owner and President of Emerald Coast Home Options. I started my professional career as a pilot in the United States Air Force, serving for 1 0 years and getting out just after desert storm in 1991. I was assigned to the 33rd Fighter Wing, Flying F-15C’s. I was hired by United Airlines in 1992 and worked there for 17 years flying the Boeing 737, 777 and Airbus A-320. I took an early retirement in January of 2010.

I started my real estate career as an investor in 1992 buying my first foreclosure and rehab property at a public auction. I’m a licensed real estate broker have learned this business from the inside out. I have purchased, rehabbed, and sold numerous properties. I now have an extensive team of contractors and professionals that will work in concert to help you with the short sale process.

Specializing in short sales and distressed properties, I have spent many months negotiating with a host of different lenders. This experience is invaluable to the trade and current market, providing me with extensive knowledge of how each lender processes a short sale, their approximate time-lines and procedures. Knowledge and information are essential ingredients for success, and they also allow me to pass this on to sellers and clients desperate for solutions and answers.

I concurrently do BPOs (appraisals) for several asset management companies on a weekly basis, which in turn allows me to see their expectations and requirements for a short sale to be approved. It also means that I spend much time observing the market in this area and predicting its future patterns and direction. What always astounds me is seeing short sales go to the steps because they are not handled in the correct manner. This is not something you can give to anyone, just because they have a license or because they were successful when the market was up.

I have an Associate Degree from Bradford University in the UK, majoring in marketing. I worked as a graphics and marketing manager for six years in Atlanta, GA, before moving full time into Real Estate. I have lived in the USA for the past 10 years as a permanent US resident

Jennifer Parks has been employed since 2009 as legal assitant to Mark Violette. Since that period of time, she has also assisted with Real Estate closing activities.

Prior to joining the team at Mark Violette, P.A., Jennifer was employed with Touchstone Land Title, Inc. from May 1999 to October 2008 progessing from book-keeping/assistant closer to book-keeping/closer, along with human resources duties throughout. Prior to that, she was employed under W. Ray Touchstone Jr as book-keeper/legal assistant from September 1997 until May 1999, at which time Touchstone Land Title, Inc. was formed.

Steve represents the Baker and Lindsey Niceville Office as their lead Mortgage Loan Officer. Formerly the Vice President and Co-Owner of Superior Home Loans, LLC located in Niceville, FL for over 5 years, Steve has been with Baker and Lindsey since early 2009. He is also the co-founder of the Home Owners Financial Education Institute, a not for profit organization created with the mission to educate our community on matters pertaining to home ownership and personal finance.

Steve has been active in the Niceville-Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce for over 7 years and has served on the executive board as the Vice Chairman of the Membership Development Division, board of directors, and numerous other committees. He also serves on the administrative board for the First United Methodist Church of Niceville and on the board of directors for the Okaloosa County Public Schools Foundation.

Steve is a Certified Mortgage Planner? and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Florida. He and his wife, Leanne, have two daughters, Evelyn and Gwen, and a son, Lane. They enjoy traveling, being out side, and Gator Football!
